Regions Report
Region report
Every fact cites a public source. How we check facts
01
School districts
Traditional public school districts and charter school districts, listed separately, from the NCES Common Core of Data.
02
Workforce boards and WIOA plans
Local workforce development boards serving the region, and where the state posts WIOA local plans.
Verified means a person matched the entry to an official public source and saved the exact passage that confirms it; those sources and passages are listed with the entry. An entry without a saved passage is never marked Verified.
03
Chambers and economic development
Chambers of commerce and economic development organizations, with what each has published.
04
Employers and industries
Target industries and employers named by local boards, economic developers, and colleges.
05
Engaged employers
Employers that sit on the region's workforce board, chamber and economic development boards, college foundation and advisory boards, and school district CTE advisory committees, or are named sponsors and partners of them. Most connections first. Each connection has its own source and quote. Employers and role types only, never people.
06
Colleges and other partners
Colleges, local government, intermediaries, and state agencies in the region.
07
Speaking opportunities
Upcoming conferences, summits, luncheons, and career events in the region where an outside presenter could get on the program, ranked from what each listing says.
Takes speakers means research confirmed the event accepts outside speakers. Likely and Possible are estimates from the event's own cited listing: calls for proposals, keynotes and panels, conference and program formats, workforce and education topics, and the host. Board and committee meetings are left off.
08
Census and labor data
Population, education, employment, and business counts from the Census Bureau, and local occupation data from CareerOneStop.
09
Sources
Every source behind this report, its last check, and the confidence of the facts drawn from it.
Last check: Verified with a date means a live fetch confirmed the page that day. Checked by research means a person confirmed a passage on it by hand. Found by research means research cited it; the passages are with each fact. Not checked yet means nothing has confirmed it so far.
